Peggy Sue came to us with one hind foot missing possibly from being attacked by a dog when she was a kitten. A few months later we had to have her hind leg amputated due to her getting infection in her leg from walking around and when she would try to jump at times she would hit the stump of her leg on the ground and it would cause her to cry in pain. So we took her into the vet and they amputated her leg to give her as close to normal, but pain free life. She has done very well and no longer has to worry about infection or pain. These days Peggy Sue has skin allergies and has to have a shot about once a month so she would love to have someone sponsor her so she can continue to receive her month shot for her skin allergies.

Belleglen Sanctuary is a small non-profit cat rescue organization based in Northern California. We have rescued about 250 cats that were former blood donors who donated their blood to save the lives of cats all over. We have approximately 100 cats that are disabled or they have special needs that require more care or extra medical expenses. Unfortunately with tears in our eyes, without your help, all of these very special kitties that have helped save the lives of so many other babies or who are a little extra special won't be able to remain at the sanctuary or given the option to find a very special home. Many of these cats have come from irresponsible pet owners who don't practice spay/neuter. They were abandoned, dumped to fend for themselves or abused because no one wanted them. No matter what brought these kitties to the sanctuary, these kitties deserve not to ever feel abused, scared or hurt. They deserve a chance at life with enough food and medical care and love. The sanctuary is supported by donations from individuals and organizations, adoption fees, and volunteerism. We seek sponsors for each of our sanctuary cats. A sponsor provides for the monthly costs to care for an individual cat and receives a picture and biography of the cat.

Adoption - Sometimes we have cats available for adoption. We adopt our cats only to indoor homes or indoor homes with fully enclosed outdoor patio areas. You must be able to afford veterinary care and provide references. We require adoption fees. You must agree that if you are no longer able to care for your adopted cat, you will return the cat to Belleglen Sanctuary. We make a life commitment to all our cats.

Education - We are committed to spay/neuter education and safe outdoor environment education for cats. Create a safe outdoor environment for your cats. Contact us for information.

Sponsorship - As a sponser, you receive a picture and biography of the cat that you sponsor. Your donation provides for care for your cat including basic veterinary services. You may sponsor on a monthly basis or an annual basis.

Other items that they can use include litter, toys, towels and cleaning supplies.

Lisha has severe mouth inflammation that without medication it is extremely painful for her to eat. With monthly medication she is extremely sweet and loving. She desperately needs a sponsor so we can continue to provide her with the medication she so desperately needs.

Whitney has a terrible diarrhea problem and requires yogurt be given to her every other day to stop her diarrhea so she won’t have a sore bottom. The vet thinks with time she might have a chance at a normal life, but for now she is in need of someone to sponsor her so she can continue to receive her yogurt and has a chance to hopefully have a normal life in the future
